14th June 2026. Day 6, leg 2

Still sailing, and still cloudy!

The weather is reminiscent of sailing around Cornwall, with cloudy skies and steely grey seas. But… the sailing conditions could not be better – force 4 winds on a broad reach in relatively gentle seas that will hopefully take us all the way to the Cape. In fact, progress is so good that we are now expecting to reach the waypoint tomorrow night. With luck, that will give us enough daylight time on the 16th to continue as far as Ayamonte on the Spanish Atlantic coast, and we are looking forward to a rest and good food (and beer) there.

Meanwhile on board… life continues along our routine of watches and meals. John has perfected his frittata recipe – no mean feat when cooking at 10 degrees of heel – and treated us to that last night.
