View towards Ste Foy Station

This is our final entry from Ste Foy for now and, with France and England in lockdown, we’re not sure when we’ll return.  It’s so sad to leave as, despite the restrictions imposed over the past 4 weeks, it has been an amazing month.  The weather has been glorious although, had the slopes remained open, there would have been a shortage of fresh snow.  Over the last week the trees have all come into bud and fields of wild flowers have replaced the pistes.  Jonathan now speaks better French, melodies I’ve played are (just about) recognisable, we have healthy tans (keeping up our Vitamin D levels to fight the virus) and feel so privileged to have been able to enjoy the clear air and spectacular mountain views.

For a number of reasons we’re heading back to England on Good Friday… Jonathan is due to have his cast removed next week to allow the next stage of rehab, and Foreign Office advice to return to the UK means we may not be insured to stay.  More importantly we want to be closer to family and be ready to go back to work on Intensive Care should the need arise.  Expect the next post from London or Cornwall……
