We’ve spent a day wandering around Val d’Isère. The lifts are running, or at least, some of them, so we took the express lift up to the Solaise ski area for a little sightseeing. This lift was the one I used to come off the mountain after my injury, so was the last lift I took in the Winter season. It was perhaps fitting that it should be the first lift I have taken back up, even if we were not going to be skiing down just yet.
If you have not visited a ski resort in the Summer, it is a little disorientating. We didn’t expect to see a big lake in the Solaise ski area – a patch of snow in winter that we have regularly skied over!
It’s great to see that you’ve got back to France and can start to enjoy your retirement again… and injuries healing nicely.
The mountains look amazing and difficult to imagine them covered in snow when the grass is green and the sun shining, but let’s hope the next season brings a bumper crop of the white stuff.
Happy summer 😎x
Good to hear from you both. Thanks for being our (probably) only followers!
We’ve been in Ste Foy a couple of weeks now, so expect another update from Cate very soon…
